BVT-115959

BVT-115959 is a selective adenosine A2A receptor agonist developed for the oral treatment of pain, specifically targeting peripheral sites of inflammation and injury. The drug was designed to act preferentially at lower pH values found in inflamed tissues, thereby localizing its effect to sites of injury and reducing the risk of systemic side effects. It was investigated primarily for neuropathic and inflammatory pain conditions but development was discontinued after Phase II clinical trials due to insufficient efficacy or strategic reasons.
