Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BVX-0320 is a haptenized recombinant protein vaccine candidate developed by BioVaxys Technology for the prevention of COVID-19. The vaccine utilizes a recombinant SARS-CoV-2 spike protein that has been modified through haptenization, a process designed to enhance the immune system's ability to recognize and respond to the viral antigen, particularly by stimulating T-cell activity. BioVaxys partnered with WuXi Biologics for the synthesis of the recombinant spike proteins and engaged Inotiv for preclinical safety and toxicity evaluations to support an Investigational New Drug (IND) application. The asset was part of a portfolio acquisition from IMV Inc. in 2024, though development by BioVaxys dates back to early 2021.
