Overview

BW-0011 is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic candidate being developed by Argo Biopharma (also known as Chengdu Xinzhenghe Pharmaceutical Technology) for the treatment of Parkinson's disease. The drug utilizes RNA interference (RNAi) to specifically target and silence the expression of the SNCA gene, which encodes the alpha-synuclein protein. The accumulation and aggregation of alpha-synuclein are central to the pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease and other synucleinopathies. By reducing the production of alpha-synuclein at the source, BW-0011 aims to slow or halt disease progression. The program is currently in the preclinical stage of development and is part of Argo Biopharma's pipeline of RNA-based therapies.
