Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BW-07 is an investigational small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapy developed by Shanghai Argo Biopharmaceutical for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, specifically targeting thrombosis. It is designed to silence the expression of Coagulation factor XI (FXI) in the liver using Argo's proprietary RNAi delivery platform. By reducing the production of FXI, a protein involved in the intrinsic pathway of blood coagulation, BW-07 aims to provide a potent and long-acting antithrombotic effect with a reduced risk of bleeding compared to traditional anticoagulants. In January 2024, the program (likely designated as AB-1016) was part of a major licensing agreement with Novartis, granting the latter exclusive global rights for development and commercialization.
