BW-20829 is an investigational small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapy designed to lower levels of lipoprotein (a) [Lp(a)], a genetically determined risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Developed by Argo Biopharma using its proprietary RADS (RNAi Advance Delivery System) platform, the drug is engineered for hepatic targeting to achieve potent and durable silencing of the *LPA* gene, which encodes the protein component of Lp(a). In early 2024, Novartis acquired an exclusive license for the global development and commercialization of BW-20829. The candidate is currently being evaluated in Phase 2b clinical trials for the treatment of adults with elevated Lp(a) and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD).
