BW-23 is an investigational small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic being developed by Shanghai Argo Biopharmaceutical for the treatment of cardiovascular disease. The drug was developed using Argo's proprietary RADS (RNAi molecules with Remarkable Activity, Durability, and Safety) platform, which is designed to enhance the potency, durability, and safety profile of RNA interference therapies. In January 2024, BW-23 was identified as a preclinical asset included in a major strategic collaboration and licensing agreement between Shanghai Argo and Novartis, a deal valued at up to $4.165 billion. The program is currently in the discovery and preclinical stages, focusing on siRNA-mediated knockdown of a specific, though currently undisclosed, mRNA target relevant to cardiovascular pathology.
