Overview

BW-41012 is an investigational small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic developed by Shanghai Argo Biopharmaceutical for the prevention and treatment of thrombotic disorders. It is designed to target and silence the expression of Coagulation Factor XI (FXI) in the liver. By reducing FXI levels, BW-41012 aims to inhibit the intrinsic pathway of coagulation, potentially offering a safer profile with a reduced risk of bleeding compared to conventional anticoagulants like warfarin or direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs). The drug is administered subcutaneously and is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials for safety, tolerability, and pharmacodynamics.
