BW-A 58C is an experimental small molecule antimalarial drug belonging to the naphthoquinone class. Its chemical name is 2-(4-tert-butylcyclohexyl)-3-hydroxy-1,4-naphthoquinone. The compound undergoes extensive alkyl hydroxylation in humans to a single t-butylhydroxy metabolite via cytochrome P450 enzymes (primarily CYP2C9).
