Overview

BWC5036 is a preclinical-stage small molecule dual inhibitor of Ataxia-telangiectasia mutated (ATM) kinase and DNA-dependent protein kinase (DNA-PK), developed by Bugworks Research. These kinases are critical components of the DNA damage response (DDR) pathway, specifically involved in the repair of double-strand breaks. By simultaneously inhibiting both ATM and DNA-PK, BWC5036 aims to sensitize recalcitrant tumors to DNA-damaging agents (such as radiotherapy or chemotherapy) or exploit synthetic lethality in tumors with specific genetic deficiencies. The program is currently in the lead generation phase for the treatment of recalcitrant tumors.
