Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BWC5167 is a preclinical-stage small molecule modulator of the spliceosome, currently under development by Bugworks Research. The drug is primarily being investigated for the treatment of pancreatic cancer. By targeting the spliceosome—a complex molecular machine responsible for removing introns from pre-mRNA—BWC5167 aims to disrupt the aberrant splicing patterns often found in cancer cells, which can lead to tumor cell death or growth inhibition. It is currently in the lead generation phase of preclinical development.
