Overview

BWC5681 (also known as BWC6388) is a preclinical small molecule dual inhibitor of cyclin-dependent kinase 7 (CDK7) and cyclin-dependent kinase 2 (CDK2), developed by Bugworks Research. It is designed as a dual transcription and cell-cycle control strategy to target aggressive, transcription-addicted, and replication-stress-driven tumors. The CDK2-inhibiting component is intended to address cyclin-E/CDK2-driven resistance biology. BWC5681 is being investigated for the treatment of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), ovarian cancer, prostate cancer, lung cancer, and other MYC- or CCNE-driven malignancies.
