Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BWC5820 is a preclinical-stage small molecule inhibitor targeting protein tyrosine phosphatase non-receptor type 1 (PTPN1) and protein tyrosine phosphatase non-receptor type 2 (PTPN2). Developed by Bugworks Research, BWC5820 is designed as an immuno-oncology therapeutic to enhance anti-tumor immune signaling, improve interferon/JAK-STAT signaling, and increase tumor immune recognition. It is being investigated for the treatment of immune-resistant solid tumors, including melanoma, lung cancer, renal cancer, colorectal cancer, and head and neck cancers. The candidate has shown strong potential for combination therapies with checkpoint inhibitors, cytokine-based approaches, and cell therapies.
