Overview

BWV-102 is a pre-pandemic H1 influenza vaccine candidate being developed by Blue Water Biotech (formerly Blue Water Vaccines). The vaccine utilizes technology licensed from Oxford University Innovation based on computationally identified 'epitopes of limited variability' (ELVs). These ELVs are highly conserved regions of the influenza virus identified through mathematical modeling of virus evolution. By targeting these conserved regions using a virus-like particle (VLP) platform, BWV-102 aims to provide broad and durable protection against H1 influenza strains with pandemic potential, potentially overcoming the need for frequent seasonal updates.
