Overview

**BWV-301** was a preclinical prophylactic vaccine candidate developed by Blue Water Vaccines for prevention of gastroenteritis caused by norovirus or rotavirus. It used Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center's norovirus shell-and-protrusion virus-like particle platform, a nanoparticle-based platform intended to display pathogen antigens and elicit protective adaptive immune responses. Public company materials identified BWV-301 specifically as the norovirus/rotavirus gastroenteritis program; the pneumococcal acute-otitis-media candidate licensed from St. Jude was BWV-201, not BWV-301.
