BX-1000 is an investigational, intermediate-acting neuromuscular blocking agent being developed by Baudax Bio for use during elective surgical procedures requiring neuromuscular paralysis.[1][7][11] It is a novel non-depolarizing neuromuscular blocker designed to provide rapid onset of muscle paralysis with an intermediate duration of action of approximately 45 minutes, and it is intended to be paired with the company’s specific chemical reversal agent BX-3000 to enable precise, rapid reversal of blockade.[1][5][11] In Phase 2, randomized, double-blind, active-controlled trials versus rocuronium in adult patients undergoing elective surgery with total intravenous anesthesia, BX-1000 achieved Good or Excellent intubating conditions at all tested dose levels, demonstrated clear dose-dependent neuromuscular blockade on electromyography with efficacy comparable to standard-dose rocuronium at higher BX-1000 doses, and was generally well tolerated across the dosing range tested.[1][2][3][6][11][13]
