Overview

Byakkokaninjinto is a traditional Japanese Kampo medicine (derived from classical Chinese medicine) composed of five botanical and mineral ingredients: Gypsum, Anemarrhena Rhizome, Glycyrrhiza (Licorice), Rice, and Ginseng. It is traditionally indicated for conditions characterized by severe thirst, high fever, and intense heat sensations. In modern clinical practice, it is frequently utilized for inflammatory skin disorders such as rosacea, atopic dermatitis, and eczema, specifically to alleviate facial flushing and hot flashes. The formulation's pharmacological activity is attributed to the synergistic effects of its components, including anti-inflammatory properties from glycyrrhizin and immunomodulatory effects from ginsenosides. Kracie is currently evaluating its efficacy as an adjunct to metronidazole gel for treating rosacea-related hot flashes in a Phase 3 clinical trial.
