Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Byetalog (HB1085) is a long-acting glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist developed by Wuxi Hebang Biotechnology for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. The drug is a recombinant fusion protein consisting of exendin-4, a GLP-1 analog, fused to human serum albumin (HSA). This fusion technology is designed to significantly extend the circulating half-life of the peptide, allowing for a reduced dosing frequency compared to native GLP-1 or short-acting analogs. By activating the GLP-1 receptor, Byetalog stimulates glucose-dependent insulin secretion, inhibits glucagon release, and slows gastric emptying, thereby improving glycemic control in patients with diabetes.
