Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BYOGRAYZ (BIO 300) is an orally administered, patented nanosuspension formulation of genistein developed by Humanetics Corporation. It is designed as a prophylactic medical countermeasure (MCM) to protect military personnel, first responders, and cancer patients from the toxic effects of ionizing radiation. The drug acts as a radiation modulator by inducing a reversible G2/M cell cycle arrest in susceptible cells, thereby providing a window of protection during radiation exposure. Additionally, it exhibits antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. BYOGRAYZ is currently being evaluated in clinical trials for the prevention of Acute Radiation Syndrome (ARS) and for mitigating radiation-induced lung injury in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), as well as for treating lung injury associated with COVID-19.
