Overview

BYON3521 is a novel antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) developed for the treatment of cancers that overexpress the c-MET protein. It consists of a humanized IgG1 monoclonal antibody (SYD2884) targeting c-MET, linked via a cleavable valine-citrulline linker to a duocarmycin-based cytotoxic payload (seco-DUocarmycin-hydroxyBenzamide-Azaindole, also known as vc-seco-DUBA or SYD980). Upon binding to c-MET on cancer cells, BYON3521 is internalized and releases its cytotoxic agent inside the cell, leading to targeted cell death. Preclinical studies have shown potent activity in MET-amplified and high MET-expressing tumor models as well as bystander killing effects. The drug aims to provide effective therapy with potentially fewer side effects than conventional chemotherapy by selectively targeting tumor cells[1][3][4][5][6].
