Overview

BZ019 is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy targeting CD19, a tumor-associated antigen expressed on the surface of B cells. The therapy involves genetically modifying a patient's own T lymphocytes using a non-viral vector to express a CAR that recognizes and binds to CD19, leading to targeted immunologic cytotoxicity against malignant B cells. It is being developed primarily for the treatment of relapsed or refractory large B-cell lymphoma and other high-grade or diffuse large B-cell lymphomas. The product is under development by Shanghai Cell Therapy Group and related organizations, with clinical trials reaching up to Phase 2 before being suspended[1][2][3][4][5].
