BZ371B is a synthetic peptide drug developed by Biozeus Biopharmaceutical for the treatment of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and other pulmonary diseases. It acts as a nitric oxide synthase (NOS) enhancer, inducing local nitric oxide (NO) production in the lungs. This results in selective vasodilation and bronchodilation with anti-inflammatory activity, improving oxygenation and blood flow regulation in lung tissue. BZ371B was administered via inhalation to target lung cells directly. The drug was investigated primarily for ARDS associated with respiratory infections such as COVID-19 but development has been discontinued after early-phase clinical trials[1][2][3][4].
