Overview

C-4-29 is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy developed by Chongqing Precision Biotech Co., Ltd. It is engineered to target the B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA), also known as TNFRSF17, which is a cell surface protein highly and selectively expressed on malignant plasma cells in multiple myeloma. The therapy involves the ex vivo genetic modification of a patient's own T cells to express a CAR that recognizes BCMA, followed by re-infusion into the patient. Once infused, these cells bind to BCMA-expressing myeloma cells, triggering T-cell activation and subsequent tumor cell lysis. C-4-29 is currently being evaluated in Phase I clinical trials for the treatment of patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM) to assess its safety, tolerability, and preliminary efficacy.
