Drug intelligence / Profile preview
C-AM-01 is a repurposed formulation of picotamide, a small molecule dual thromboxane A2 (TXA2) synthase inhibitor and thromboxane A2 receptor (TP) antagonist. Developed by Curatis Group and its spin-off CapiThera, it is currently in Phase 2 clinical development for the prevention of severe migraine with aura (MwA). By targeting both the production and the receptor-mediated actions of thromboxane A2, C-AM-01 aims to address the vasoactive and pro-thrombotic mechanisms associated with the cortical spreading depression and vascular changes characteristic of migraine with aura. The drug addresses a significant unmet medical need in the severe segment of patients with aura.
