Overview

C-CAR070 is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy designed to target the CD70 antigen. While CD70 is traditionally associated with certain lymphomas and solid tumors, it is also highly expressed on the surface of malignant plasma cells in multiple myeloma, making it a viable therapeutic target. The therapy involves the genetic modification of a patient's own T cells to express a CAR that recognizes and binds to CD70, leading to the targeted destruction of CD70-positive cancer cells. C-CAR070 is primarily being investigated for the treatment of relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma, particularly in patients who have failed standard therapies, including those targeting BCMA. By targeting an alternative antigen like CD70, C-CAR070 aims to provide a new treatment option for patients who may have relapsed after BCMA-targeted CAR-T therapies or to be used in combination strategies to overcome antigen escape.
