c-Met siRNA refers to small interfering RNA molecules designed to target and silence the expression of the c-Met (MET) receptor tyrosine kinase, also known as hepatocyte growth factor receptor (HGFR). By utilizing the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway, these molecules trigger the degradation of c-Met mRNA, thereby reducing protein levels and inhibiting downstream oncogenic signaling. In the context of renal cell carcinoma research, c-Met siRNA has been shown to attenuate the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and downregulate pro-tumorigenic factors like CXCR7, vimentin, and N-cadherin. While primarily used as a research tool for target validation, c-Met siRNA represents a therapeutic strategy for treating cancers characterized by MET overexpression or activation.
