Drug intelligence / Profile preview
C109 is a preclinical small molecule designed to selectively disrupt the interaction between integrin β3 and Src by targeting the Src SH3 domain. Developed by the Shanghai Institute of Hematology at Ruijin Hospital (Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine) in collaboration with the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, C109 selectively inhibits integrin β3-mediated outside-in signaling in platelets. This selective inhibition suppresses both arterial and venous thrombosis without compromising inside-out signaling, which is critical for maintaining normal hemostasis. In preclinical models, C109 demonstrated potent antithrombotic efficacy comparable to high-dose integrilin and rivaroxaban, while preserving bleeding time and showing favorable pharmacokinetic properties and metabolic stability.
