Drug intelligence / Profile preview
C112 is a highly potent and selective next-generation angiotensin II type 2 receptor (AT2R) agonist (ATRAG) developed by Vicore Pharma. It is designed to promote anti-inflammatory, anti-fibrotic, and vasodilatory pathways. In ex vivo human fibrotic kidney slices, C112 has demonstrated superior anti-fibrotic and fibrolytic properties compared to buloxibutid (C21), significantly reducing profibrotic mediators such as collagen type I alpha-1 (COL1A1) and transforming growth factor-beta 1 (TGF-beta 1) while increasing the fibrolytic protease matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1). C112 is currently in preclinical development for the treatment of chronic kidney disease and renal fibrosis.
