Overview

C1199B is a selective small-molecule inhibitor of Casein Kinase 1 (CK1) being developed by CasInvent Pharma. It is specifically targeted toward the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders, including Huntington's Disease, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), and Parkinson's Disease (PD). The Casein Kinase 1 family of serine/threonine kinases is involved in various cellular processes such as DNA repair and circadian rhythms, and its dysregulation has been implicated in the pathogenesis of central nervous system (CNS) diseases. CasInvent Pharma, a spin-off from Masaryk University, plans to partner this candidate with CNS-focused pharmaceutical companies for further clinical development.
