C1QBP siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of the C1QBP gene, which encodes the Complement component 1, q subcomponent binding protein (also known as p32, gC1qR, or HABP1). C1QBP is a multi-compartmental protein that plays a significant role in mitochondrial bioenergetics and cellular signaling pathways associated with growth and survival. In various cancers, including triple-negative breast cancer, C1QBP is upregulated and contributes to tumor progression and metastasis. The siRNA works by triggering the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway, leading to the sequence-specific degradation of C1QBP mRNA, which subsequently reduces protein expression and inhibits the proliferation of malignant cells.
