C2-2b-2b is an experimental immunocytokine developed by Immunomedics using their proprietary Dock-and-Lock (DNL) platform. It consists of a humanized anti-HLA-DR monoclonal antibody (hL243) fused to four molecules of interferon-alpha-2b (IFNα2b). By targeting HLA-DR, which is highly expressed on various hematopoietic malignancies including multiple myeloma, lymphomas, and leukemias, C2-2b-2b delivers a high local concentration of IFNα2b directly to the tumor site. This approach aims to enhance the anti-proliferative and pro-apoptotic effects of interferon while minimizing systemic toxicity and improving pharmacokinetics compared to recombinant IFNα2b. In preclinical studies, C2-2b-2b has demonstrated potent in vitro and in vivo activity against a variety of hematopoietic neoplasias.
