Overview

C2C_ASC110 is an investigational allogeneic cell therapy consisting of mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) derived from human adipose tissue, developed for intravenous administration in patients with recently diagnosed non-ischemic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction. In the ARIISE trial, patients receive two infusions of these allogeneic adipose-derived MSCs one month apart, with CryoStor CS10 serving as the placebo comparator.[1][3][7][9] Adipose-derived MSCs are thought to exert cardioprotective effects primarily through paracrine and immunomodulatory mechanisms, including secretion of trophic factors that may reduce inflammation, limit adverse remodeling, and support myocardial repair, rather than direct engraftment. The program is being evaluated in early-phase clinical studies to assess safety, tolerability, and potential improvements in cardiac function and clinical outcomes in non-ischemic heart failure.
