C44-Fc

C44-Fc is a recombinant fusion protein consisting of a nanobody (VHH) targeting Angiopoietin-like protein 3 (ANGPTL3) fused to a human IgG1 Fc domain. Developed as a potential treatment for nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and hyperlipidemia, it works by binding to and neutralizing ANGPTL3. ANGPTL3 is a key regulator of lipid metabolism that inhibits lipoprotein lipase (LPL) and endothelial lipase (EL). By blocking ANGPTL3, C44-Fc relieves this inhibition, thereby promoting the clearance of triglycerides and cholesterol from the plasma. In preclinical studies, C44-Fc has demonstrated the ability to significantly reduce plasma lipids and alleviate hepatic steatosis in mouse models.
