Drug intelligence / Profile preview
C5AR1 antibody is a monoclonal antibody antagonist developed by Twist Bioscience that targets the Complement Component 5a Receptor 1 (C5AR1), also known as CD88. C5AR1 is a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) primarily expressed on myeloid cells, including neutrophils and macrophages. It serves as the primary receptor for C5a, a potent proinflammatory anaphylatoxin generated during complement activation. By antagonizing C5AR1, this antibody blocks C5a-mediated signaling, thereby inhibiting the recruitment and activation of inflammatory cells. The drug is intended for the treatment of various inflammatory and immunological diseases and is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
