C6-17 (also referred to as mAB C6-17) is an investigational monoclonal antibody developed to target a particularly exposed region of the mutant huntingtin protein (mtHTT), which is implicated in the pathology of Huntington's disease. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that C6-17 specifically binds mtHTT aggregates and inhibits their uptake by cells, thereby reducing intercellular transmission and spread of pathological mtHTT. In animal models, systemic administration of this antibody led to significant reductions in mtHTT levels in both peripheral organs and the central nervous system (CNS), accompanied by improved motor performance. The drug was being developed as a potential passive immunotherapy for modifying disease progression in Huntington's disease but has since been discontinued[1][2][3][4][5].
