Overview

CA-702 (Effective-Mononuclear Cell, E-MNC) is an autologous cell therapy product being developed for the treatment of radiation-induced xerostomia (dry mouth) following radiotherapy for head and neck cancer. The therapy is derived from a patient's peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) that have been processed using a specialized "Quality and Quantity" (Q&Q) culture system. This culture method enriches the cell population for vasculogenic and anti-inflammatory cells, including endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) and M2-like macrophages. When administered via local injection into damaged salivary glands, CA-702 is intended to promote angiogenesis, reduce chronic inflammation, and stimulate the regeneration of salivary gland tissue, thereby restoring salivary secretion and improving patient quality of life.
