Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CA1001 is a first-in-class humanized antibody fragment (Fab) targeting platelet glycoprotein Ibα (GPIbα). It is designed to inhibit the interaction between von Willebrand factor (VWF) and platelets, thereby preventing thrombus formation. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that CA1001 has potent anti-thrombotic effects, consistent pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic properties, and a favorable safety profile. It has shown efficacy in reducing cerebral infarct volume in models of acute ischemic stroke without increasing the risk of intracerebral hemorrhage. The drug also exhibits rapid onset of action and dose-dependent effects[2][5].
