Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CA33 is a preclinical-stage monoclonal antibody targeting secreted fatty acid-binding protein 4 (FABP4, also known as adipocyte protein 2 or aP2). Developed through a collaboration between the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and UCB, CA33 is designed to neutralize circulating aP2, an active adipokine that contributes to metabolic dysfunction. In preclinical models of obesity and type 2 diabetes, treatment with CA33 lowered fasting blood glucose levels, improved systemic glucose metabolism, increased insulin sensitivity, and reduced fat mass and hepatic steatosis.
