Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cabazitaxel + capecitabine is an antitumor combination therapy that pairs cabazitaxel, a second-generation semisynthetic taxane that stabilizes microtubules and induces tumor cell death, with capecitabine, an oral fluoropyrimidine prodrug. This combination has been studied primarily in patients with metastatic breast cancer who have progressed after previous chemotherapy with taxanes and anthracyclines. The combination has demonstrated antitumor activity with an objective response rate of 23.8% at the maximum tolerated dose (cabazitaxel 20mg/m² plus capecitabine 1000 mg/m²), with a median time to progression of 4.9 months.
