Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cabazitaxel ginsenoside liposome injection (Ginposome-CTX) is an innovative liposomal formulation of the taxane chemotherapy agent cabazitaxel, developed by Xiamen Ginposome Pharmaceutical. The drug utilizes a proprietary ginsenoside-based liposome delivery system (Ginposome DDS), where ginsenosides (specifically ginsenoside Rg3) replace cholesterol as the membrane-stabilizing material. This approach is designed to improve the pharmacokinetic profile of cabazitaxel and potentially enhance therapeutic efficacy through the intrinsic anti-tumor properties of ginsenosides. Cabazitaxel functions by binding to and stabilizing tubulin within microtubules, preventing their disassembly and leading to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. The product is administered intravenously and is currently in the NDA filing stage in China for the treatment of prostate cancer.
