Overview

Combination of **cabotegravir** (an integrase strand transfer inhibitor), **abacavir**, and **lamivudine** (both nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors) as a fixed regimen for the treatment of HIV infection. Each agent targets HIV replication at different stages: cabotegravir prevents the integration of viral DNA into the host genome, while abacavir and lamivudine inhibit reverse transcriptase, thereby blocking viral RNA conversion into DNA. This specific three-drug combination is not an FDA-approved product as a single pill or marketed under any known brand or trade name; all three agents are used in antiretroviral therapy (ART), but in other FDA-approved combinations (e.g., abacavir + dolutegravir + lamivudine as Triumeq, and injectable cabotegravir + rilpivirine as Cabenuva).
