Cabozantinib + nivolumab is a fixed combination regimen of two distinct drugs used for the treatment of advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC). Cabozantinib is an oral small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor that targets multiple kinases, including vascular endothelial growth factor receptors (VEGFRs), MET, and AXL, thereby inhibiting tumor angiogenesis and proliferation. Nivolumab is a monoclonal antibody immune checkpoint inhibitor targeting programmed death 1 (PD-1) receptor on T cells, enhancing anti-tumor immune responses. The combination leverages both direct anti-tumor effects via kinase inhibition and immunomodulation to improve clinical outcomes in patients with advanced RCC.
