Cacalol acetate is a sesquiterpene derivative of cacalol, a natural compound isolated from the medicinal plant *Psacalium decompositum*. It has been investigated for its potential as an anticancer agent, particularly in cervical and breast cancer models. In vitro studies using HeLa cells have demonstrated that cacalol acetate exhibits significant antiproliferative, pro-apoptotic, and anti-migratory activities. Its mechanism of action involves the induction of apoptosis through the activation of Caspase-3 and the arrest of the cell cycle in the G2 phase. Compared to other natural agents like indole-3-carbinol, cacalol acetate shows lower cytotoxicity and more potent regulation of tumor phenotypes, making it a candidate for further oncological research.
