CACIPLIQ20 is a CE-marked topical medical device containing OTR4120, a chemically engineered biodegradable polymer known as a ReGeneraTing Agent (RGTA) which mimics and replaces degraded heparan sulfate in the extracellular matrix (ECM)[1][2][3][4][5][6]. Its primary mechanism is to restore ECM integrity by binding to structural proteins (such as collagen, elastin, and laminin), stabilizing matrix proteins, and protecting heparin-binding growth factors and signaling peptides from degradation[1][2][3]. This enhances tissue regeneration, accelerates wound healing, decreases inflammation, and improves vascularization in chronic and acute non-healing wounds, burns, and surgical injuries[1][2][3]. Preclinical data show increased wound breaking strength, reduced scarring (lower collagen III/fibrosis), and improved granulation and epithelialization. Developed for chronic wound management, its clinical utility extends to diabetes ulcers, venous ulcers, carbuncles, pressure injuries, surgical wounds, and burns, often resulting in accelerated healing and reduced pain[1][2][3][5].
