Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cactus Shuxin is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation, typically presented as a capsule, used primarily for cardiovascular health. Its composition is centered on the extract of *Opuntia dillenii* (cactus), which is combined with other potent herbs such as *Panax notoginseng* (Sanqi) and *Salvia miltiorrhiza* (Danshen). The drug is indicated for the treatment of coronary heart disease and stable angina pectoris, operating through the TCM principles of "activating blood" and "resolving stasis." Pharmacologically, it exerts cardioprotective effects by improving coronary microcirculation, reducing myocardial oxygen consumption, and providing antioxidant defense against lipid peroxidation. It is manufactured by regional pharmaceutical companies in China, most notably Guizhou Miaoyao Pharmaceutical.
