Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CAD-2000 is an orally bioavailable small molecule inhibitor of 12-lipoxygenase (12-LOX) currently under development by Cadrenal Therapeutics. As a next-generation compound within the company's 12-LOX portfolio, it is designed to target inflammatory pathways that contribute to metabolic dysfunction. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that oral administration of CAD-2000 improves glycemic control, preserves pancreatic β-cell function, and reduces the presence of inflammatory cells and pro-inflammatory cytokines in adipose and pancreatic tissues. The drug is being positioned for the treatment of inflammatory conditions, specifically obesity and Type 2 diabetes.
