Drug intelligence / Profile preview
cAd3-EBO S is an investigational vaccine designed to protect against the Sudan virus (SUDV), a species of Ebola virus. It uses a non-replicating chimpanzee adenovirus type 3 (cAd3) vector to deliver genetic material encoding the glycoprotein of the Sudan virus. This induces an immune response by prompting the body to produce antibodies and T cell responses specific to the viral glycoprotein. The vaccine has demonstrated safety and immunogenicity in phase 1 clinical trials, rapidly inducing durable antibody and T cell responses after a single intramuscular injection. It is being developed for emergency deployment in regions at risk for SUDV outbreaks[1][5].
