Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CADI-R502 is a therapeutic program developed by Bio-Modeling Systems (BMSystems) using their proprietary Computer Assisted Deductive Integration (CADI) platform. The program was specifically designed to "rescue" the clinical development of a failed Phase III drug candidate in oncology, identified as **oblimersen** (Genasense), for the treatment of **metastatic melanoma**. By modeling the complex biological pathways and mechanisms of resistance, CADI-R502 identified the reasons for the clinical failure of oblimersen in unselected populations and proposed a revised therapeutic protocol. The model highlighted the role of specific biomarkers and pathways, particularly those involving **Bcl-2**-mediated apoptosis, to optimize patient selection and treatment efficacy. The program aims to reposition the Bcl-2 antisense oligonucleotide by identifying responsive patient subgroups or synergistic combinations that circumvent immune evasion and metabolic resistance mechanisms.
