Cadiar-D

Cadiar-D is a fixed-dose combination antihypertensive medication developed and marketed by Maks Drug Limited. It contains candesartan cilexetil, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), and hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic. Candesartan cilexetil is a prodrug that is hydrolyzed to its active form, candesartan, which selectively blocks the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, resulting in vasodilation and reduced aldosterone secretion. Hydrochlorothiazide inhibits the sodium-chloride symporter in the renal distal convoluted tubule, promoting the excretion of sodium and water to reduce extracellular fluid volume and blood pressure. This combination is typically indicated for the management of hypertension in patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by monotherapy.
