**Cadiflu** is a brand of seasonal influenza vaccine developed using virus-like particle (VLP) technology and available in India. It is indicated for the active immunization of adults and children against influenza virus types A and B. The vaccine is administered as an intramuscular injection, typically a single 0.5 mL dose in the deltoid muscle. Unlike traditional inactivated influenza vaccines, Cadiflu’s VLP formulation carries the hemagglutinin (HA), neuraminidase (NA), and matrix 1 (M1) proteins from relevant influenza strains, but does not contain live viruses or viral genetic material. This confers protection by mimicking the external structure of the virus and stimulating an immune response without risk of viral replication. Cadiflu is egg protein-free, minimizing allergy risks, and aims to reduce the incidence and severity of influenza, particularly in high-risk populations[1][2][6][8][10].
