Cadisegliatin (TTP399) is a novel, oral, small molecule that acts as a liver-selective glucokinase activator. It is being developed by vTv Therapeutics as an adjunctive therapy to insulin for the treatment of type 1 diabetes and has also been investigated for type 2 diabetes. Cadisegliatin works by selectively activating glucokinase in the liver, increasing hepatic glucose uptake and glycogen storage independently of insulin. This mechanism aims to improve glycemic control and reduce hypoglycemia risk in people with type 1 diabetes when used alongside insulin therapy. The drug has been generally well tolerated in clinical studies involving over 500 subjects[1][4][5][7][8].
